Butyl Rubber (IIR)

IIR (isobutylene isoprene rubber) is a type of synthetic rubber with the outstanding property of being air-permeable. Other properties such as abrasion resistance, tear resistance, tensile strength, adhesion to fabrics and metals of butyl rubber are good. Regarding environmental impact, butyl rubber has very good resistance to sunlight, weather and ozone. Good resistance to dilute inorganic acids, alkalis, phosphate ester oils, acetone, ethylene, ethylene glycol, water, concentrated acids, except nitric and sulfuric; Not resistant to petroleum products.

Chemical structure

Butyl rubber (IIR) is produced by polymerizing isobutylene with
isoprene in small amounts.

Main purpose of use

Used for rubber components for vacuum equipment
