Natural Rubber (NR)

Natural rubber is produced from the latex of the Hevea brasiliensis tree, and the chemical name of this polymer is polyisoprene. Polyisoprene can also be synthesized by polymerization from its monomer isoprene. Natural rubber possesses many excellent physical properties including high elasticity and durability and good abrasion resistance. Same defects as SBR, has poor resistance to hydrocarbon oils and is unsuitable for UV, oxygen, ozone. But poor weather resistance can be improved with special additives.

Chemical structure

Natural rubber has a chemical structure of polyisoprene – a polymer of isoprene

Main purpose of use

Use for tape, hoses, rubber shoes, tires, shock absorbers, etc.
